Wine tour Italy, Sicily Superior

Go on a wine tasting trip to the colorful landscapes of Sicily to taste unique and high-quality wines that are produced almost entirely from local grape varieties. On the trip, we will also focus on enjoying traditional Sicilian delicacies, which are made from tasty organic ingredients from the surrounding area. On the way, we will also get to know the wine production of the Cerasuolo di Vittoria region, which is the first region in Sicily to receive Italy’s highest DOCG classification. We will get to know the prestigious wine region of small Noto, close to historic Syracuse. During the extended weekend, we will stay in the delightfully wonderful UNESCO World Heritage sites in the cities of Ragusa and Syracuse.

Day 1. Wednesday

Departure from Helsinki on a Lufthansa flight towards Catania. The flight arrives in Catania, charter transport to the Ragusa wine region.

In Ragusa, a winery visit and lunch at the Tenuta Senia winery.
The journey continues to the city of Ragusa, where we stay at the Hotel de Stefano.

Free night.

Day 2. Thursday

Breakfast at the hotel. Winery visit and lunch at Poggio di Bortolone in the Ragusa area. Free time in the afternoon to explore the city of Ragusa.

Return to the hotel. A multi-course dinner at the acclaimed Camuri restaurant.

Day 3. Friday

Breakfast and check-out from the hotel.

The trip continues to the Cerasuolo di Vittoria wine region, where as a day’s visit to a winery, we get to know the COS Vittoria winery, which produces highly valued and the best wines on the whole island. It consists mainly of Grosso Nero and Calabrian grapes, as well as Frappato grapes.

The second winery visit of the morning is at the Donnafugata Vitoria farm. In connection with the wine tasting, we taste Sicilian delicacies.

After the visit, we will travel to the city of Syracuse, where we will stay in the heart of the old part of the city, the Grand Hotel Villa Politi.

Free time to explore this historic, wonderful city surrounded by the sea.

Day 4. Saturday

Breakfast at the hotel. We leave for the Noto wine region, where we have a two winery visit

The hills of the Noto region, the white limestone soil, the winds created by the meeting of two seas create the best conditions for the growth of vines and the creation of great wines. In Noto, Nero d’Avola and Moscato grapes grow together with almonds, carob and olives, typical plants of the region.

The final dinner of the trip in an upscale restaurant in Syracuse.

Day 5. Sunday

After breakfast, private transfer to Catania, where you will enjoy a light lunch in Catania before transferring to the airport.

Lufthansa flight via Munich to Helsinki. Departure at 3:50 p.m., arrival in Finland at 11:40 p.m
