Wine tour Italy, Veneto Prosecco & Amarone

Join on a wonderful food and wine trip to Northeastern Italy, the most prestigious region for wines and delicacies. The large number of Veneto wines includes both easy-drinking and wonderfully dense white wines, as well as red wines, from light Bardolinos to festive and full-bodied Amarones, Prosecco and Grappa. The Valpolicella region, located near the provincial capital Verona, is one of the most famous wine regions in the world. The extremely beautiful scenery of Lake Garda will surely charm everyone. On the way, we will stay in the village of Bassano del Grappa and Verona. Italian expert guide Antti Uusitalo accompanied on the trip as tour leader.

Itinerary

DAY 1. THURSDAY

Finnair’s direct morning flight from Helsinki to Milan.

Order delivery to the Prosecco wine region. On the way, we stop in Sirmione, at the Cassino Maddalena winery, for a wine tasting and lunch. In the afternoon, the trip continues towards the wonderful town of Bassano del Grappa. Visit Capovilla Azienda Agricola Grappa farm and taste old vintages. Accommodation in the city center, in the small and cozy hotel of Villa Ca´Sette. Snacks at the hotel.

DAY 2. FRIDAY

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to the Prosecco wine region, where we will get to know the La Tordera winery, take a little walk around the winery’s lands and taste sparkling wines.

Lunch in the Locanda Sandi restaurant of the art and culture farm surrounded by vineyards.

Return transport to the city of Bassano del Grappa, with free time to explore the city. Dinner with tasting menu and wines in the hotel’s Michelin-starred Alex Lorenzo’s Ca´Sette restaurant.

DAY 3. SATURDAY

Breakfast at the hotel and check-out. Departure to the Valpolicella wine region and getting to know two wineries. The province of Veneto is especially known for the top wines of Valpolicella, of which the Amarone and Valpolicella ripasso wines are the most prestigious. The first is the Zenato winery, which produces its wines from those grape varieties. The second of the day on the shores of Lake Garda at the Villa Calicantus farm, with lunch and wine.

After the visit, we will continue our journey for a while to Verona, where we will stay at the high-class Hotel Veronesi La Torre. Free time to walk around and shop. Dinner in the hotel restaurant.

DAY 4. SUNDAY

Breakfast at the hotel. Check out from the hotel. Transport to the Franciacorta wine region, where you will get to know the wines of the region with a winery visit. Lunch at the Bella Iseo restaurant in the wonderful scenery of Lake Iseo.

After lunch, time for shopping in Franciacorta’s outlet village. The trip continues to Milan airport, from where Finnair’s direct evening flight to Helsinki.
