Wine trip to South Africa (and the paradise island of Mauritius)
Join a unique South African wine tour in November 2023 to visit the most prestigious wineries in the middle of breathtaking scenery. We will get to know the wonderful city of Cape Town and its most famous attractions. We visit the famous wine regions of Constantia, Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Paarl. On the way, we get to know the country’s best wineries, feast in high-class restaurants, get to know South African food culture and discover new worlds of taste. We stay in luxurious 5* hotels on the way.
As tour guide, wine expert Tomi Naarvala from Wineserver will accompany you on the trip.
If you wish, you can continue the journey to the paradise island of Mauritius to the luxurious Paradis hotel, where you can have your own time lounging on the white sand beach, enjoying good wines and food, and playing golf or doing a variety of water sports.
DAY 1. FRIDAY 17.11.
Turkish Airlines flight from Helsinki via Istanbul to Cape Town. Arrival in Cape Town the next day.
DAY 2. SATURDAY 18.11.
The flight arrives in Cape Town in half a day, after which we leave to taste wines at South Africa’s oldest winery, Groot Constantia. At the winery, we can also get to know a wonderful old manor house representing Dutch architecture. We enjoy lunch at the winery’s restaurant.
After the winery visit, we head to our hotel in Stellenbosch and stay at the winery hotel Lanzerac.

DAY 3. SUNDAY 19.11.
After breakfast, we head to the pearl of South Africa – the Stellenbosch wine region, which has more than 100 wine cellars. We visit the Anura vineyard, which is located between Stellenbosch and Paarl, surrounded by magnificent mountain scenery. The environment guarantees an ideal growing environment for wines. https://www.anura.co.za/
Next, we visit the Neethligshof winery, located right in the heart of Stellenbosch. We enjoy lunch at the winery restaurant.
After the visit, we return to our winery hotel. Free time to relax in the hotel’s spa. Before dinner, we get to know the hotel’s winery and taste its wines. Dinner in the hotel’s wonderful Manor Kitchen.
DAY 4. MONDAY 20.11.
Check-out from the hotel after breakfast. After this, our journey continues to the Franschhoek wine region. The region itself is the wine and food capital of South Africa. First, we get to know the picturesque Boscendal wine farm, where wine has been made for over 300 years. The place attracts wine lovers from all over the world.
After the visit, we continue to the Haute Cabriere winery, which is surrounded by breathtaking scenery. After the wine tasting, we enjoy lunch at the winery restaurant.
In the afternoon, the trip continues to our wonderful spa hotel in the cradle of wine groves and wonderful mountain scenery, Le Franschhoek. Free time and dinner at the hotel.
DAY 5. TUESDAY 21.11.
Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast we visit Paarl wine region. First, we get to know the Nederburg winery, which produces award-winning wines.
The trip continues to the Laborie winery, whose wine selection also includes several award-winning wines. We enjoy lunch at the winery restaurant.
After the visit, we head to the city of Paarl, known for its architecture, where we have free time to explore the city for a couple of hours.
In the afternoon we return to the hotel. Free night.
DAY 6. WEDNESDAY 22.11.
Breakfast at the hotel. Transportation to the Franschhoek Wine Train, which we use to tour the nearby farms. Tasting and light lunch on the way. https://winetram.co.za/hop-on-hop-off/
Dinner at the wonderful Monneaux restaurant right in the heart of Franschhoek.
DAY 7. THURSDAY 23.11.
Breakfast at the hotel and check-out. Departure to Cape Town to the city’s most famous attraction and the best vantage point for Table Mountain, one of the seven natural wonders of the world. We go up to Pöytävuori by cable car to admire the stunningly beautiful scenery over Cape Town.
A long seafood lunch at the Waterfront, South Africa’s oldest operating port. Pöytävuori stands out in the background of the popular fish restaurant Harbor House.
After lunch, we will take a city tour, getting to know its most famous sights.
Accommodation at the Gorgeous George design hotel right in the heart of Cape Town.

DAY 8. FRIDAY 24.11.
Breakfast at the hotel. A private transfer from the hotel to Cape of Good Hope, one definitely worth a visit. In addition to the beautiful scenery, the area is home to many animal species, including several species of birds and baboons. There is a historic lighthouse in Cape Point, which we can visit by cable car. The waters in the area are stormy, as the cold current of the Southern Arctic Ocean and the warm current of the Indian Ocean meet 150 kilometers away at Cape Agulhas. Throughout history, numerous ships have sunk in the area. The legend of the flying Dutchman has its origins in these waters.
Our journey continues to Boulders Beach, which is also located in Table Mountain National Park. This popular attraction is known for the penguins that live in the area. There is a colony of over 3,000 penguins in the area, so we will definitely see penguins in the area.
After the excursion, we will return to the hotel, where we will have free time to rest and prepare for dinner.

DAY 9. SATURDAY 25.11.
Breakfast at the hotel and check-out. Free morning followed by lunch at a local restaurant. Transportation to the airport and an evening flight to either Helsinki or Mauritius. Arrival to Helsinki on Sunday 26.11. at noon.
To Mauritius continue:
DAYS 10.-15. SUNDAY- FRIDAY 26.-1.12.
Arrival in Mauritius early in the morning. A local guide will be waiting at the airport, and will take you to the hotel with a chartered transport.
We will stay for the next 5 nights at the upscale Paradis Beachcomber hotel on the white-sand southwest tip of the cape.
At the hotel, all inclusive services are included in the price of the trip.
The hotel has several restaurants to choose from, as well as the restaurants of the sister hotel Dinarobin, and you can practice several different water sports, play tennis and golf, go on wonderful snorkeling trips, etc.
The hotel can also book excursions to different parts of the island.
DAY 15. FRIDAY 1.12.
Check out at 12, then stay at the hotel.
At the hotel you can enjoy all inclusive services until the moment of departure.
Charter transport to the airport and Turkish Airlines evening flight to Istanbul
via to Helsinki. Helsinki will be reached the next day, half day, 2.12.
